GETCAP Head Start is one of the nation's most comprehensive child development programs. This program provides services in the Piney Woods of East Texas. GETCAP Head Start/Early Head Start started in 1968 in Nacogdoches County with 90 children and has expanded to five countries with 652 children including infants, toddlers, and expectant mothers.

We believe parents are the most important influence in their child's development. Parent involvement in education, program planning, and operating activities is essential.

Texas Early Education Model (TEEM) is currently expanding to include Science as part of their comprehinsive curriculum. We're proud to be the pilot program for the TEEM's Science portion of the curriculum. Thanks to Mrs. Dian Wise, Blue Room Teacher at Nacogdoches Head Start. For more information on the TEEM Approach
